Kondapolam(2021) Krish movie review is up dear people. Starring Vaishnav tej and Rakul Preet Singh under the direction of Krish has released in theatres recently. This movie plot is based on the famous novel Kondapolam from Sannappureddy venkataramireddy. Let’s check in our review whether Krish has narrated the story in effective manner on screen or not.

Story:

Kondapolam is the story of Ravindra Yadav (Vaishnav tej) hails from a poor family in a village near Nallamalla. He failed to get one proper job even after trying for several attempts and returns to his village. Due to some forcable situations he along with obulamma (Rakul Preet Singh) and fellow villagers go to Nallamalla forest to do Kondapolam. Entire story is about hurdles faced by Ravi while doing Kondapolam and how he overcomes his fears and becomes an IFS officer at the end.

Analysis:

Undoubtedly, Krish is one of the finest directors of our Telugu cinema. He never sticks to one genre always wanted to try new. There is no surprise when he chooses the direct the novel called Kondapolam.  Because Kondapolam has that potential to amaze the audience if it is directed properly. While reading the novel, we will get involved with the narration from the very beginning of the novel. It deals with various issues related to deforestation, unemployment problems etc. it tried to explain internally the relation between the man and nature also plight of people belongs to various communities.

I was very excited to see this movie on screen when it was announced. Sadly, Krish had failed to transform the story into interesting one on screen.  Addition of Obulama character in the movie has done good in first half and bad in second. Complete focus has been transferred towards developing a love story between the lead pair. Too many songs also acted as obstacles for the narration. Conflict is not properly established. This film is basically a journey of unemployed graduate and how his life has turned when he went Kondapolam. At the end of the film, it appears more like a love story.

Vaishnav Tej displays sincerity and earnestness which is required for this role and his acting is impressive. His eyes speak a lot. Tej gave his best for the role but somehow the transition in his role is not very convincing and his journey is not properly narrated on screen. This is the reason where audience would disconnect in the middle. This is first time for Rakul Preet Singh to do a de-glam role. We actually doubted when she appeared in trailer first and we are wrong. She is apt for the role. Rakul dubs for her role, it is perfect.

Vaishnav tej and Rakul Preet Singh roles are completely contrasting roles. Vaishnav is highly educated but does not know anything about the world around him, however Rakul might be uneducated but she knows her way and the world around her. This point alone can be highlighted in the movie, but this was also sidelined after some point. Ravikrishna has finally got a one good role after a long wait and he impresses every one with lengthy monologue. Senior artiste Sai Chand is another show stealer. Rest of the actors have done neat job.

Keeravani tried his best in bringing life to Kondapolam and BGM work is outstanding. Songs are good but the placement of songs actually disturbed the flow. Cinematography by Gnana Shekar VS is outstanding specially during the interval bang. Krish movies does not disappoint us with dialogues same happens with this movie also. Dialogues are meaningful.

Kondapolam(novel) is the story which should be told in bigger canvas. Couldn’t able to find out the actual reason where it actually went wrong but this is the clear case of good script goes wrong. Every actor and technician has kept their best efforts but end product is below par.

Conclusion:

Kondapolam has unique story, Premises and has its own moments. Story is the main hero for this film and inconsistent narration is the major villain for the film. Watch it for earnest performance from all the actor. Also, this story provides lot of information about forest. Watch it for its unique premises by ignoring the slow narration.
